Supportive Environment: FMCEC aims to create a supportive and nurturing environment for young people, akin to a family, where they can feel safe, valued, and encouraged to express their creativity, vulnerability, and aspirations.
Resource Provision: The organization is committed to providing resources and opportunities that address the educational, emotional, and developmental needs of young individuals, particularly in areas where there may be gaps in available resources.

Meet Our Team
At the heart of everything we do at Foyer Mt Carmel Educational Center, you’ll find a shared commitment to the children of St-Louis-du-Nord, Haiti.
In 2016, driven by a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of education, I, along with a dedicated group of colleagues, began sponsoring children in need in my hometown. By taking on the financial responsibility of their school tuitions, we aimed to empower them with the tools to create their own futures.
Realizing the far-reaching potential of our efforts, we decided to expand our reach in 2018. After a series of impactful discussions with parents, I reached out to Zak Myers and Nelson James, leading to the birth of Foyer Mt. Carmel Educational Center, Inc.
Our mission is simple yet profound – to provide families the support they need to equip their children for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st-century global landscape. We take immense pride in our contributions towards children’s education, understanding that we’re investing in Haiti’s future one child at a time.
Our belief is that by investing in these young minds, we are paving the way for them to acquire the essential education to excel and make a difference. The 2022-2023 school year stands as a testament to this belief, as Foyer Mt Carmel, along with its generous donors, successfully funded half the tuition for 70 children.
But our work doesn’t stop there. We aspire to continue supporting our children, not only by fully covering their tuition but also by donating school supplies and backpacks. Our aim is to further motivate them and their parents towards a prosperous future.
